Sunday 10 October 2010 Final Handicap Race 10/10/10
Atrocious conditions didn't stop the committed and the foolhardy turning up on Sunday at the Bongaree Jetty for the 2010 winter 5/10k handicap events. Despite wild wind and rain squalls 10 runners ran 10.10 kilometres (yes it was a little long) on 10/10/10 with the overall results declared at 10:10am.
Similar numbers in the 5k (10kx.5) started 20 (10X2) minutes after those in the longer event but no-one could catch Macca on the day and he blitzed both fields with a stunning sub 40 performance.
Good improvements by Tim M and Le-Anne in the 5k with Master Tim, overall series winner, also running under his handicap by a good margin. In fact 6 runners beat their times including Francis this years series runner up ahead of Judith.
In the 10k Bill ran a great race today shadowing Anja who lead the series up to this event, but it was Sean who took the race on handicap with good wife Mrs G in third. Bill's second place gave him enough points to take the 10k series overall from Anja and Will. Full leaderboard below.
