18.11.08 Here's your final handicap in 2008, increased by 2% for the start of the 2009 series. Start training now for the opening event high atop Mt Mee in March from Macca's Mansion with the third running of the Mt Mee Tri - 21.1ks up the D'Aguilar Range on Saturday, 8k handicap Mt Mee Showgrounds and Somerset Trail 13.1ks both on Sunday. Estimate your time to complete the full marathon distance over th...
18.11.08 “One Small Step For A Man, One Giant Leap For Mankind”
Neil Armstrong was supposed to say this when he landed on the moon. What he actually said was a bit different but after our recent trip to Hinchinbrook Island we decided we’d change it completely to “One small step for Luke, one giant leap for the rest of us”. Up Warilla Creek to Mount Bowen
In February Dave mentioned to Steve the Thors...
17.11.08 Toorbul Tornado Tears Trousers off Tremulous TrailblazerAll eyes were on the handicap results in yesterdays decider at Toorbul, our first run at this venue. But the vast crowd of onlookers and competitors were unprepared for the carnage at the front end where the heat took its toll, and even hotter still were the whispered conspiracy theories as the line honours winner finished a clear minute ahe...

20.10.08 Great conditions on Saturday for a trot around Somerset. It's a great trail run with spectacular views at the 7k mark. We hope that this can be a regular monthly event in future. Walter and Sue joined us with Caesar while Craig, a CoolRunning icon (Bellthorpe) came along too. All enjoyed a cuppa, and damper courtesy of Wendy, post run.
12.10.08 There was rumours of gold out in the hills out west past the Mt Mee homestead, but for many a year no one had ventured out there. With new prospecting lands opened and a call to come out and race, many a CRR member could not resist and led out by our fearless leader from lands east long beyond the seashore, new running territory was to be explored.Cars were loaded, racing shoes put on & laces tied....
06.10.08 Full results now shown below. Organiser, Geoff Williams, reports that while weather and conditions were great, numbers were down a little on previous years. This is disappointing as the Bribie Beach Bash raises money for a very worthwhile charity, Endeavour, the event is held in a wonderful spot and Geoff works very hard to make it a success. Here's to a bigger crowd next year.

You may know that Bob, Lorna and Julia Hill, long time supporters of the Caboolture Road Runners club, provide an annual award and perpetual trophy to a club member nominated by his/her peers as “Clubperson” of the year. The Hills hosted a regular Sunday run of 11 kilometres over some serious hills from their place in Campbell’s Pocket from 1988 until they moved to Hervey Bay in 2003. Virtuall...
29.09.08 Haile Gebrselassie set a new world record for the marathon in Berlin recently with a staggering finish of 2 hours 3 minutes and 59 seconds. How quick is that? Try 29 minutes and 23 seconds for 10 kilometres - then do it 4 times plus a bit! Or 72 seconds for 400 metres, for a mere 105.5 laps. Awesome.

24.09.08 Good roll up and good times for this perennial event over a new 10k course with over 30,000 participating. Dave and Macca ran well to finish under 40 minutes while Parso only just made it by the skin of his teeth in 39:59. Good times from Steve H and Steve M, Courtney, Robyn E, Jo and Joanne, Courtney, Tamara, Arthur and Glen. Robyn and Joanne scored bottles of vino provided by our sponsors and...
24.09.08 Time flies but it's only 2 weeks after a strong showing by CRR's in events at Glasshouse from the 12 k up to the big one. Steve M powered to a 1:02:32 finish on a tough track with Sandy close behind in 1:04:43. Back a little were Judy and Judy, Moller and Buchan respectively around 90 minutes.Greg Waite finished well up in the 30k in 2:38:56 in conditions which I think have to be acknowledged as...
24.09.08 Last weekend saw Toowoomba celebrate its Carnival of Flowers while CRR runners celebrated in runs both there and closer to home at Pt Cartwright.Like a kid in a chocolate shop Parso just had to enter both halves but after moving house and work commitments over recent weeks decided against the Pt Cartwright event on Saturday morning. Those who did not wimp out included our newly rising star perfor...
18.09.08 This was posted on the old site but many may not have seen it. I'm still on my training wheels with the new site/system so bear with me. 24/8/08
Just when you think the 8k is all but decided, someone in the club has a blinder and all bets are off. Steve M slashed 5 minutes off his handicap at the Seaside Saunter this month, edging ever so close to the 5 minute barrier and pulling his handicap d...

08.09.08 A great event from hard working Geoff Williams and supporting the Endeavour foundation. Running from Woorim, surfside, north almost to the island tip you then retrace your steps....unless the tide has come in in the meantime. It can be a tough slog if the southerlies blow up but no matter how hot you may get there's always the surf right at your side for a cooling dip. If you're lucky you'll se...
02.09.08 Tamborine Trek Entry form is available under Resources/Forms. On the 5th October it is a great run for either solo or team competitors. It is about 62ks of a tough hilly course part of which is used for the Kokoda Challenge so it is a good introduction to what you can expect in that event as well.Oh, and welcome to the new look web site which we are testing now. It is much easier to maintain an...
22.08.08
An informal group meets most Saturdays to run from 5k at an easy pace on reasonable courses suitable for people starting out or looking for an honest workout without racing. Check out the details here. Ron's the man for more details and it would be appreciated if as many CRR members as possible could support this new initiative to encourage regular runs for new members. And dust off your old Spe...
