Don't look at me, the title was suggested by another CRR for this weeks wrap of events.
Cap'n Ron is planning to ride the Noosa MTB Enduro on 12/7. To this end he will be arranging some training rides for any one interested, either in the event or just a bit of a change. See Narangba Runners for details (yes, there is now a link on the Links page). Ron's first foray on the new wheels was planned for last Sunday in the Bunyaville State Forest.
Saturday it was more tri training for Coach Dave, Team Haze, Mappo and Parso on Bribie. With the main event just 2 weeks away there will be at least 3 and possibly more CRR starters in the long course.
Sunday Parso and Macca started out at 5:30am on the hill to cane the gate run, but had to turnaround on the final gravel section due to cattle on the road. Macca still put in a stirling finish with a few sub 4 minute ks on the return leg.
Driving home down Campbells Pocket I passed Zorro, a lather of sweat, toiling up towards the Jackson Road corner having intended to start at the fruitshop. Putting in the hard yards on this hard course must pay off in more stellar performances by the Fox.
The Harvey Machine is planning fund raising for the next Kokoda Challenge in July, as well as taking every opportunity to run as a family or try new challenges like Wild Horse and a Twilight Half coming up. Last I heard the Griffs were into touch footy but recent heavy rains prevented access to ovals. Still, all are training and running hard around work and school commitments.
This week the Narangba Runners (I promise there really is a link now on the Links page) will be doing their usual, Team Haze hosts a mid week tempo or long intervals session at Morayfield and next Saturday there'll be more Tri training at Bribie, and probably another attempt at Macca's Gate Run on Sunday. It's worth running up there now as it is a lot cooler and Melvin runs with us too. Man you wanna see him chase trucks down Robinson Road - can he go!
