Russell set a great course at Godwin Beach last Sunday for race 1 in Steve’s 2009/2010 Super Slippery Sweaty Slip Slop Slap Summer Series.  Parso’s alternative across the mud flats at low tide certainly would have been slip and slop, as the kids proved later in the morning – and he probably would have been slapped by the other runners.

Russell’s course was predominantly sandy underfoot but with some hard or stony sections along winding trails through bushland adjacent to the beachfront.  Sportstrack software subsequently calculated the GPS track from my Edge at 3.97kls so it was very close to the mandatory 4k for this series.  The track included a couple of steeplechase leaps over, under or around some fencing.  Russell had a sterling run sans footwear again and while Laimon and Mark tried ditching the shoes we doubt it will become de rigueur.  Here’s the finishing order;
