Round #4 of the 2021 Handicap Series will be hosted by Tina on Saturday 12th June, at the Boat Ramp on the corner of Captain Cook Parade and Emerald Avenue at Deception Bay. The 10km will start at 4.00pm, and the 5km at 4.30pm.
This will be a very scenic out and back along the waterfront at Deception Bay, along concrete footpath. There are picnic shelters, toilets, and water available.
I would give yourselves plenty of time to find a park and warm up, so arrive about a half an hour before the start of your chosen event.
For those of you who are new to our Club, the Handicap Series is raced every year, over 8 events. Your points for your best five results accumulate, with the possibility that you will become this year’s Handicap winner. You need to decide whether you are racing either the 10km or the 5km, and stick to that distance for the entire series. If you haven’t raced before this season, you will need to commit to running all of the remaining events to give yourself a chance to be in the running to take out the title!
We usually bring along a plate to share afterwards, and the Club will have tea and coffee available, so it’s a good idea to have your favourite cup too.
Don’t forget that it is also the 2021 Annual General Meeting, so it would be great if you could stay for a while to help decide who will be steering the Club into 2022.
